Caves and potholes in the Sant Llorenç del Munt geological unit
A massif of monumental conglomerates between the Vallès and Bages comarques, where water has sculpted caves and potholes of spectacular form.
Part of the Serralada Prelitoral major unit, dominated by conglomerats (96 %). Its caves are spread across Vallès Occidental, Bages.
Catalonia has 163 catalogued cavities in the Sant Llorenç del Munt geological unit, including 64 potholes and 99 caves. The longest is Cova del Manel (788m) and the deepest is Avenc de les Rovires (126m).
