Small 6 m deep pit in Sant Llorenç del Munt, with an entrance of 3 x 1 m and a floor plan of 6.5 x 3 m.

Characteristics

Location

Walking along the ridge path from Montcau to la Mola, once past Pla dels Ginebrons you reach Pi Tort. Here you must take the path, to the right, that descends through the Canal del Pi Tort in the direction of Can Pèlags. On reaching a charcoal kiln we will follow a small stream that comes from a rocky area. The entrance is very overgrown with vegetation, which makes it difficult to locate.

Morphology

The entrance, 3 x 1 metres, gives access to a pit with a drop of 6 metres. The floor of the pit, 6.5 x 3 metres, is covered with plant debris.

Structured along a N40E – S40W joint, which opened due to the collapse of the roof.

Hydrology

At some point it may act as a small sinkhole.

History

The oldest reference we have of an exploration of the cavity is the one carried out by members of GES – CMB in May 1954, but we do not know whether it was the first exploration.
