Location

Its location is quite simple. You must begin the search at the start of the Canal de les Bruixes; right at the foot of the cliff, we will move to the east of the rocky wall. As we go around the first rocky outcrop, we find the avenc del Figuerot on our right, with its narrow, elongated fissure, perpendicular to the rock wall, as if it were showing us where to look for the cave. We will locate this cave right in front of the pit, half covered by a fig tree that, in the end, is what gives its name to both cavities.

Description

Morphology

The entrance to the cave is half hidden by a fig tree growing beside it, with a scant metre of height and a little more than half a metre of width that allows entry into the chamber, with about 5 metres of length from end to end and where the width varies from the very beginning and widens to a metre and a half, then narrows again and reaches almost 2 metres at the final part. Here there are two small impassable galleries that bring the cavity to an end.

History

The first reference we have of this small cavity is a mention by Joan Rosaura (SIS-CET), who explored it on 26 December 1977.
