Location

On the NE slope of the turó del Muronell. From km 12 of the B-124 road from Castellar del Vallès to Sant Llorenç Savall, a track leaves to the left and climbs the torrent del Sot de la Carda (according to the ICC, Sot del Sabater). A little more than 1 km along, after the confluence with the Sot del Muronell, the path turns left and continues climbing the Sot de la Carda along its left slope. About 400 metres further on, one must climb about 50 metres up the NE slope of the turó del Muronell, where the cavity is found.

Description

Morphology

An entrance of 5 x 1 metres that gives way to a single shaft 32 metres deep, descending uniformly to -16 where it undergoes a sudden widening of the main fissure towards the SW. The shaft continues descending, losing some of its verticality, until reaching the base, where a slightly descending gallery about 20 metres long begins and where the cavity ends.

History

The first exploration of the pit was carried out by members of the Centre Excursionista de Terrassa on 24 February 1924.
