From Sant Feliu del Racó follow the track leading to the house of the Girbau. On reaching it, continue along the track until, on the right, a secondary track is found that climbs to the coll de la Rocassa and follows the ridge in a NE direction, passes beside the Pujolet and further on the Pujol; a few metres below this hill is the pit, surrounded by some holm oaks.

Description

Morphology

The entrance is 2 by 1.3 metres and reveals a small drop 1 metres further down. After this point, the pit continues via a 4.5-metre shaft with an inclination of 66º that leads to the bottom of the pit. The shaft narrows in its middle part and then widens again, reaching the floor with a length of 2.5 metres. Cavity set in an N3S joint, with different intercalations of marls in the upper part of the shaft.

History

Discovered and explored by members of the now-defunct group Talps del Centre Excursionista del Vallès (Sabadell) in the mid 1960's, who apparently named it Avenc d'Any Nou, but practically no record of this exploration remained.

The only data we know are those given by the SIS – CET, who visited and surveyed it in February 1979, believing it to be an unpublished cavity, and wrongly named and published it as Avenc de la Carena del Sabater, since the nearby ridge is not the one known as that of the Sabater; when they realised, they went on to call it del Pujol del Mas Pinetó, which is how it is known today and as it appears on the sign that the Centre Excursionista de Castellar del Vallès installed years ago beside the entrance of the pit.
