Characteristics

Location

At the Soleia del Sabater Vell. From the road from Castellar del Vallès to Sant Llorenç Savall, a few metres after km. 12 there is the pont del Sot de la Carda, where the track that leads to the turó del Muronell begins. Follow along the right bank of the torrent, cross it once and, when it is crossed a second time, on our right a path leaves that climbs up to a track; we will follow it up until we pass another torrent; before crossing it, on our left a path can be seen among the brambles that climbs along the side of the torrent, a few metres from the path and under some holm oaks is the pit. (data 1980).

Description

Morphology

The entrance, 3 x 2.5 metres, gives way to a 5.5 metre shaft that opens in the form of a bell; its descending ramp floor is 6 metres long and 3 wide. At the lower end we can observe a step preceded by a short gallery full of debris and mud. Structured on a N25E – S25O joint, used as a small sinkhole. The floor is formed by a cone of debris covered with plant detritus.

Hydrology

Thanks to the easy decomposition of the materials, water has excavated the joint. Through the short gallery full of debris and mud, water filters in times of rain.

History

Known for many years by the hunters who frequented that spot, but it was not until early 1980 that its exploration was carried out by members of the SIS del CE Terrassa.
