Description
Morphology
A circular depression of about 7 metres in diameter leads to a joint of direction N20E – S20O. In the final section of the cavity, the joint widens due to the intersection with a bedding plane, responsible for a local collapse.
Hydrology
The cavity was used as a cistern, taking advantage of the numerous seepages.
Progression
At the bottom of the depression are the remains of the wall and the opening of the old door that closed the cavity. The installations have been out of use for many years, though the ladder for descending and the tanks are still preserved.
History
Known since time immemorial. First mentioned as a speleological phenomenon by Font i Sagué in his catalogue (1897) and it appears in the various hiking guides as a curiosity.
