Characteristics

Location

Starting from the coll d'Estenalles we will go up along the paved track. After the collet d'Estella we will take a bend to the left and before taking a second one also to the left, we will leave on our right, off the path, following along the ridge of a crest. Some fifty metres before reaching the riverbed we will find the foot of the carbonatic level which we will follow on our right until we find the two mouths of the cova de l'agulla del Cellerot. Following this same level further to the S we would find the cova del torrent del Cellerot, but on this side the rocky slope ends up exposed to a drop, for which reason it is necessary to climb, when possible, a few metres of the carbonatic level and go down through a very worn channel. Once down, it is necessary to follow close to the wall some twenty metres to our left until reaching the mouths of the cova del torrent del Cellerot.

History

The Cova del Torrent del Cellerot was a discovery by the now deceased Josep Barberà i Suqué who in 1989 informed Quim Solbas of it, as well as the existence of the Cova de l'Agulla del Cellerot. The cave opens in a stretch of sparse rocky slope with a direct view over the agulla del Cellerot, in the upper part of the torrent of the same name.
