Description

Morphology

Once past the narrow entrance, one must descend by scrambling about five metres of drop to reach the widest part of the cavity (1 metre). The single gallery, running N, totals about a dozen metres of awkward passage. At some point the ceiling of the cavity reaches 8 metres in height. The pit ends by narrowing until it becomes impassable.

Speleothems

Presence of some sample of limestone concretion.

Progression

One must rappel six metres from the upper part of the channel to reach the ledge where the pit is. Once past the narrow entrance, one must descend by scrambling about five metres of drop.

History

Discovered in 1986 by the Sabadell climbers Arnau Renom and Xavier Graner while rappelling around punta Camarassa (Matadepera). On 7-12-1986 a team formed by J. Perona, M. Lozano, J. Farriol and A. Renom widened the small entrance to the point of being able to enter. Under the title 'La Mola encara té secrets' the corresponding report was published in the bulletin of the U.E.S (Unió Excursionista de Sabadell), although there seems to be an error in the dates since the survey states it was done two months earlier and the authors do not agree.
