Caves and potholes in the Baix Foix, el geological unit
A limestone sector around the Foix river, the southern extension of the Garraf karst toward the Penedès.
Part of the Serralada Litoral major unit, dominated by calcàries (100 %). Its caves are spread across Alt Penedès, Garraf, Baix Penedès.
Catalonia has 68 catalogued cavities in the Baix Foix, el geological unit, including 16 potholes and 52 caves. The longest is Cova del Gegant-llarga (180m) and the deepest is Pou de Cal Santó (31m).
