Characteristics

Location

Shortly before km 2 of the TV-2126 road that links the urban centres of Bellveí and Calafell, we will turn off onto the old stretch of road that branches off to the left. At this point we will leave the vehicle and continue on foot along the path to the left of the road; we will leave this main path, which initially climbs, after 50 metres, when we can practically see the road from a higher elevation. We will follow the road in a N direction along a faint trail for another 50 metres; then we will see the small cliffs that we will have to follow towards the E for 100 metres more. The cave is at the base of the small cliffs.

Description

Morphology

Cave with a south-facing entrance and an upward-sloping floor. The entrance has dimensions that allow one to enter standing up, and to its left there are two impenetrable passages with a connection to the outside. A step at the end of the entrance section gives access to the final passage, of smaller dimensions, followed by a change of direction until reaching the final impenetrable passage.

History

Albert Ferrer mentions the Cova de l'Os in the Boletín de la Biblioteca – Museo Victor Balaguer, vol. 5, no. 1 (1953), which was excavated around 1951.

In August 2020 Jordi Navarro and Montse Mañosa (Centre Excursionista Castellar) located it and carried out the documentation work for inclusion in the Catàleg Espeleològic de Catalunya (2023).
