Cova de la Barca

Balma de 15 m. de recorregut a Avinyonet del Penedès

Avinyonet del Penedès • Alt Penedès15m3m

A 15 m long rock shelter in Avinyonet del Penedès, known since time immemorial and cited by Faura i Sans on 20 July 1910.

Characteristics

Location

From Olesa de Bonesvalls we will take the BV-2411 road towards Avinyó Nou (Avinyonet del Penedès). Just past the turn-off leading to Can Ràfols dels Caus, we will take a track that leaves on our left at km 25. We will follow the track for about 1,200 metres and, after passing under two power lines, we will leave the car at a junction of tracks. We must continue on foot along the track for 200 metres until we find a firebreak, which we will climb to the top of the ridge. We will continue south along a worn path and at 175 metres we will find a small clearing. The cavity is on our right, at the base of a small cliff (this is only visible from the cave), about 40 metres into the middle of the wood.
