Description
Morphology
Small cavity characterised by having two entrances.
The main entrance consists of a narrow vertical crevice that at the same time descends and turns to the left until a rock bridge that divides the gallery into two levels and connects with the second entrance.
The second entrance consists of a step that gives access through a crawlway to the main gallery in a NE direction and to a small, low chamber in a W direction.
The gallery has an irregular and very narrow structure, except for a rectangular space where a human skull and other bones were found. The authors of the excavation considered the possibility of another larger entrance that was covered by an embankment of materials fallen from the higher area. It has two entrances at its ends, and a small hole in the ceiling that opens to the outside.
History
Discovered by Antoni Massanell (one of the founders of the Museum of Vilafranca del Penedès) while widening a narrow crevice near the spring. We think this took place around the 1930s or 1940s.
