Characteristics

Location

About Km. 5 on the BV-2116 road that links the urban centres of Castellet i la Gornal and Clariana, we will take the descending track towards the Font d'Horta and Cal Bladet for about 180m, until reaching the Font d'Horta bridge where we will leave the vehicle and continue on foot along the path that starts on the other side of the bridge and heads towards the Font d'Horta.

We will go up the Torrent de Font d'Horta for about 700m along the marked path, about 50m after the Font d'Horta which remains on the right of the path and about 15m before the Balma de la Font d'Horta.

A very discreet path goes up on the left of the path for about 25m of elevation gain to the entrance of the Cova de l'Or, located at the base of a small ledge.

Taking the previous cave as a reference, it is located to the NNW at an approximate distance of 55m, on the same cliff wall.

Description

Morphology

A group of two neighbouring rock shelters of very similar characteristics, both have a maximum length of approximately 3 m; the second of them of low average height of 0.35m, while the first is of more habitable dimensions, reaching 1.4m in height.

History

In January 2018 Jordi Navarro and Montse Mañosa (Centre Excursionista Castellar) located it and made the survey.
