Caves of Sant Feliu de Pallerols

Sant Feliu de Pallerols, a municipality in the Garrotxa, has 11 catalogued cavities: 4 pits and 7 caves. The total recorded length is 557 m and the maximum depth is 31 m. The lithologies present are sandstones, in 8 cavities, and travertines, in 3.

Avenc de Can Roca Roja Nº2 is the longest cavity, at 149 m, and the deepest, at 31 m; it has two entrances, an entry ramp, galleries, shafts and a chamber, and a total elevation difference of 31.5 m. It is followed by Avenc de Can Roca Roja Nº1, at 111 m and 27 m deep, and Cova de Roca Lladre, with a length of 80 m, with two entrances, a 5 m shaft and an estimated elevation difference of 13 m (+7;-6). Other cavities are Cova de la Torre, at 47 m, and Avenc de Can Roca Roja Nº3, at 46 m and 12 m deep, explored and surveyed on 9 June 1976 by the GGG.

Among the deepest cavities there are also Avenc de Can Roca Roja Nº4, at 22 m, and Cova 2 de les Feixasses, at 15 m, a descending fissure between blocks in the upper part of the Clot de l'Infern.
