Description

Morphology

The cavity is quite impressive both for its dimensions and for its morphology: it is a residual conduit about 20 metres long and open at both ends, from an old cavity. With a triangular cross-section, it measures about 5 metres wide by 7 high.

Other details

The remains of the stone walls that closed off the cavity to use it as a refuge and aid station for the wounded during the Carlist Wars are still preserved, hence its name.

History

Known since time immemorial.
