Characteristics

Location

The cave is located in the Cort Fosca de Mata-rodona area, in the Serra de l'Obac. From the Cort Fosca de Mata-rodona, climbing the gully again and facing the cliff, one must skirt along it on the right and, just past the first fissure that splits it, reach the cave by doing a 'rappel' of about 15 metres. Description

Morphology

The entrance is 6 metres high, more than one metre wide at the lower part and ending in a point. The gallery, after 4 metres, narrows a little and just afterwards widens to a maximum of a little more than 2 metres and reaches up to 8 metres high in the same area. The gallery narrows again to less than one metre. In the final stretch the dimensions are considerably reduced.

Progression

There is an ascending ramp that flattens out already at the end of the cave.

History

The only data we know are the product of the exploration carried out by members of the SIS – CE Terrassa in July 1987. Later they learned that years before the cave had been explored by speleologists from Sabadell and they had named it Cova de la Mitja Lluna (because the shape of the entrance section very vaguely recalls a half moon).

But it really seems, from some artificial holes, large and square, located on both sides of the walls just on entering, that the cave was already known long before and they could have been made to put crossbeams and who knows if a door.
