Characteristics

Location

It is reached from the Cort Fosca by crossing the Hospital de Sang through brambles, following the cliff face that looks west and at the same height as the aforementioned Hospital. Shortly before the cliff turns towards the E, we find the cave entrance. Along the way another cave entrance can be seen which must be left aside, since it is a ridiculous hole that does not continue.

Description

Morphology

The entrance is small (a little more than 1 metre by 1 metre). It has a triangular shape and no joint is observed in the cliff wall: it is a conduit excavated under pressure. If the entrance is already small, the rest of the cave is even more so, narrowing after about 4 metres. Then the gallery widens again to 0.5 metres in height by a little more in width. The crawlway continues in the same direction and with very similar dimensions, although it gains height and has a slightly narrower passage, until reaching 22 metres of passage, where there is a sharp turn to the left. The meander is almost perpendicular to the crawlway we came from and goes uphill; in front of us a small inaccessible gallery can be seen. The meander turns again, now to the right, and goes downhill. From here a gallery can be seen in the same direction as the first but higher and of a different shape: the floor of the gallery is at two levels. The left half is sunken and leads into an impenetrable small hole. The gallery widens and finally it is possible to go on all fours again. The cave ends after a few metres due to the perpendicular gallery that cuts it and which, both to the right and to the left, narrows too much to continue.

Speleothems

After about 4 metres we will begin to find some dry gours (which give the cavity its name), up to a fairly narrow passage, almost obstructed by some stalagmitic formations. There are still a large number of pools. Notable is the large quantity of anemolitic forms in this area and in the cave in general. Once again we find an area of dry gours.

Hydrology

This area begins to be damp and muddy, contrasting with the rest of the cave.

Progression

Following the gallery along the right side, which is slightly ascending and very narrow for more than 1 metre, one must crawl on one's side to get through. We ascend a little again and find another false bifurcation.

History

Discovered and explored by members of the SIS del CE Terrassa, who carried out the study and survey in September 1987.
