Location

The cavity is located at Montmell. It is reached via the TP-2442 road from Sant Jaume dels Domenys to Pla de Manlleu; at about km 10.5, take the turnoff toward the La Moixeta and Les Pinedes Altes residential area. After 1 km, you reach the Marmellar stream, where there is the turnoff toward the La Moixeta residential area via a bridge that crosses the stream.

The cavity is located on the left hydrographic slope of the stream, 15 metres above the stream bed and about 70 metres downstream from the Moixeta bridge, just after the neighboring cova de la Moixeta.

Description

Morphology

Cavity of habitable dimensions in a slight descent. Toward the middle of its passage, there is on its right wall a penetrable concavity with many connecting conduits toward the main chamber and toward the interior, all of them impenetrable.

At the back of the chamber there is an ordered accumulation of blocks, as well as at the entrance mouth in the form of a ruiniform closure.

History

Known since time immemorial.
