Along the road from l'Estartit to l'Escala (vehicle traffic is prohibited in the summer months), on reaching the junction that leads to the Torre Ponça, the road turns right and is no longer paved; we continue in the direction of l'Escala for 1,920 metres, where we find the junction of the road to the muntanya Gran; we follow the track in the direction of l'Escala for 138 metres, where on the right, 4 metres from the track, we will see the ring of stones surrounding the entrance of the cavity.

Description

Morphology

Small pit that was formed in 1982 shortly after an episode of heavy rains. The dimensions of the entrance, 1.30x1.15, are slightly smaller than those of the rest of the shaft, which descends vertically 5.1 metres.

Other details

At present there is a large metal sheet from an advertising fence of the Generalitat that covers the entrance; on top of the metal sheet they have placed a ring of enormous blocks that prevent the cover from being removed; in some places it is beginning to be quite rusted.

No survey is available.

History

Known in the area, it was located by the SIE-CEA during the course of the campaign carried out in the Montgrí in the years 2006-2007.
