la Barbotera

Font intermitent de 6 m. penetrables a Rellinars (Serra de l'Obac)

Rellinars • Vallès Occidental6m0

Intermittent spring, 6 m deep and enterable, in Rellinars, in the Serra de l'Obac.

Characteristics

Location

From kilometre 13.750 of the B-122 road from Terrassa to Rellinars, a wide track leaves to the right towards the house of la Boada. Once the riera de Rellinars has been crossed for the first time, at the point where the font de Carlets lies to the left, one reaches a flat area to the right of the track (la Feixa del Gram). We leave to the right the track leading to la Saiola and la Calsina, and some 300 metres further on there is another fork to the right leading to the bed of the torrent de la Barbotera; from this point, some 10 metres to the right, lies the spring.

Description

Morphology

Entry is through a joint less than one metre wide where the height decreases, being about 2 metres at the start. After 3 metres, the small gallery turns to the left; here it becomes wider but with a very low ceiling, and further penetration becomes impossible after about 3 more metres.

History

Spring known since time immemorial. It was very possibly visited in October 1919, when members of the Centre Excursionista de Terrassa made the first exploration of the Avenc de la Barbotera.
