Forat dels Despistats

Forat dels Despistats

Petita cavitat d'uns 25 m. de recorregut a la Serra de l'Obac

Vacarisses • Vallès Occidental25m5m

A small cavity about 25 m long in the Serra de l'Obac, with two pits 5 m deep that lead to an L-shaped level.

Characteristics

Location

Heading up the la Saiola torrent track, past the spring, a small path branches off to the left and crosses the streambed. We will follow it, but instead of crossing the streambed we will continue up the thalweg for about fifty metres, until we find the start of a gully on our right. Going up twenty metres and crossing a small scree slope we will reach the forat dels Despistats. If we went too far past the point where we should leave the streambed of the la Saiola torrent, a few metres further up we would come across the remains of an old logging track that descends to the same thalweg on our left. It is the warning that we would have gone a few metres too far. It is also possible to find the hole from the pits side, but access to the interior of the cavity is less comfortable; follow the la Saiola track up and, passing the aforementioned little path, a few metres before the first torrent bends, we will descend it along the thalweg and at about five metres we will find the mouth of one of the pits.

Description

Morphology

It forms two pits 5 metres deep that lead to the same L-shaped level. At the end of this level it emerges, planing, back to the outside, passing under a bridge of rocks. The forat dels Despistats is an interesting torrent bed excavated along two joints N40 and N120, producing a curious diversion of the waters coming from the torrent.

Hydrology

Inside, taking advantage of the fact that in the rainy season the water must flow through the interior, there is a wild boar wallow.

History

An interesting cavity that was noted by Salvador Vives in the CET Archive of 1972. They found this hole by chance after three Sundays following channels and little channels full of brambles and filth, looking for the avenc de Rosseguers, about which they had bibliographic references from 1935. Since 1971 no one had taken an interest in the cavity, and it remained 40 years in the most complete oblivion. On 23 October 2011, after several failed attempts, Eduard Badiella together with R. Suades and J. Guillemot rediscovered it. In earlier searches Quim Solbas had also taken a very active part; a few years earlier he had rediscovered another cavity that had accumulated more or less the same number of years of oblivion: the Forat del Serrat dels Ginebrers.
