Description
Morphology
It is a sinkhole opened in clay terrain, 5.5 metres deep. It is currently full of vegetation typical of damp areas. Part of the metal fence that served as protection has fallen inside; in this way the dimensions of the mouth have been enlarged while the depth has decreased, owing to the collapse of the ground.
Progression
The collapse of the ground that caused the opening of the sinkhole occurred in October 1998. Having learned of the event, the GE Badalona proceeded with its exploration, including diving equipment.
