Location

Driving along the GIP-5121 road from Banyoles to Esponellà, 100 metres before the village of Martís de Dalt, we will turn left and continue straight towards the Martís power station. Near the power station we will find several buildings; on the right we will find the administration or engineers' house and at the end of the paved track we find the Casa Nova. The cavity, difficult to locate, is to the W of the Casa Nova, hidden among some rocks, above the fracture that forms the avenc del Tall.

Description

Morphology

A small cave-shaped entrance, opened at the foot of a rock, gives way to a -6 metre shaft, with the base ascending to a very low upper gallery with a ceiling and which at the same time communicates with a chamber located beneath it.

Other details

The floor of the entrance shaft is covered by a layer of decomposing organic remains (dead animals thrown in from outside, data from 1982).

History

The first data from the exploration and survey of the cavity are from the GIS de Girona on 23 February and 16 March 1975.
