Petita cova de 26 metres de recorregut a Abella de la Conca

Abella de la Conca • Pallars Jussà26m0

Small cave with 26 metres of passage in Abella de la Conca, an ancient fossilised spring long known and used militarily during the civil war.

Characteristics

Location

About 300 metres before reaching the village of Abella de la Conca, on the left, a track leads to can Xinco and cal Borrell. Shortly before reaching the private entrance of the latter, a turn-off appears on the right with a sign pointing towards Sant Corneli. You pass right by cal Borrell and continue about 200 metres further to a left-hand bend with a good esplanade where you can leave the cars. To the NE, a path climbs until it reaches the track that enters the gorge and, shortly after following it, on the right, a monolith rock appears (Pedra Ficada). We continue along the track for 700 metres where it widens into a track; we must continue climbing for about 100 metres more to observe on our right (hydrographic left) the large mouth of the Espluga del Ponsà no. 2; we will head towards the cliff where this is located and, before reaching it, we will head slightly to the left towards the point where the cliff closes, which is where the Espluga del Ponsà no. 1 is found.
