Location

From the collet de Guirló we will continue along the path towards el Bruc for about 400 m, when the path crosses another torrent, which is born at the col between Sant Pau Vell and the serrat de Guirló, giving rise to what some maps call clot de l'Home Mort. The cova del Clot is about 150 m from the path, on the right hydrographic slope of the torrent and at the foot of some cliffs. Access, however, is not easy since there is no path and it must be sought over scrubby terrain.

Description

Morphology

Located at the foot of a small cliff, it is a modest cave of a good 4 metres, structured along a joint, which is why it has a vertical cross-section and is rather narrow. The cave lies at the end of a shallow overhang.

Hydrology

Not far from it, in the torrent bed there was a pool of water that on old maps, such as that of Ramon de Semir, is labelled as font del Clot, and there was even a small path to reach it. Now the whole surroundings are overrun by vegetation.

History

First mentioned in the Mapa de Montserrat by Ramon de Semir (1949). It subsequently appears cited in all the collections and catalogues of the mountain, but without providing absolutely any data.
