Description
Morphology
The cave consists of a small chamber with maximum dimensions 7×4 metres. The north end has a low ceiling and the floor is rather clayey. The ceiling is sloping and the cave loses height towards the east.
History
The name of the cave comes from the fact that it was initially covered and it was the archaeological excavations that opened it. The cave had the function of a collective burial. According to the unpublished report by Casas Müller, who excavated it in 1924, they found animal bones, a skeleton of an isard, several fragmented vessels, a fragmented bone punch, six human skulls that were in relatively good state of preservation except for the lower jaws, of which none appeared. In total the presence of 25 individuals was counted. No metal element appeared and only two doubtful scrapers.
