Characteristics

Location

From the N-420 road, take the access branch to Falset, and at the bend at km 843 there is the car park of the ermita de Sant Gregori, where the path that climbs to the hermitage begins. Below it, to the right, a small trail sets off that follows the base of the cliff and reaches the spot known as Els Racons. This small cavity is located here.

Description

Morphology

Small cavity consisting of a single ascending passage of about 12 metres of total route, excavated in the siliceous sandstones of the Buntsandstein.

History

Certainly known since remote times. We do not know whether it has a specific name, either this one or the rest of the small hollows excavated in the sandstones of this area of els Racons. Provisionally it has been catalogued as Cova de Sant Gregori, which must not be confused with the balma ermita de Sant Gregori and/or with the Abric de Sant Gregori, below the hermitage.
