Location

To reach it, take the N-420 road towards Falset and arrive at the coll del Guix or de Falset (km 844.75). On the left there is a track that climbs in a SW direction to the foot of the Torres d'Altafalla. Here you leave the car and follow a path along the shady side that leads to the pit, located right next to the path.

Description

Morphology

It is a 16 metre long fissure with some large wedged blocks, which ends up becoming impassable due to its narrowness. The maximum depth is reached between blocks and is -4 metres.

History

Cited by Joan Ferraté in his work Espeleologia de les comarques tarragonines (1918) as Avenc del Jonqueral; the few data he gives are from oral references. Known for quite some time by the people of the area and by hikers, until members of the GE Badalona visited it in January 2014 and subsequently made it known.
