Mont-ral • Alt Camp9m0

Small cave near the avenc de la Pipa, Mont-ral, almost 7 metres long with a mini side passage.

Characteristics

Location

From Mont-ral we will follow the camí de la Foradada that passes through the Serrat de l'Avenc. Once past the avenc de l'Os, further on we will find on the right a small path (ETRS89 X:339688; Y:4572438). We will follow this small path for 250 metres; at this point, on the left of the path, we will find a depression in the terrain where, inside and close to the foot of the cliff, is the avenc de la Pipa. Right at the end of this depression, on the left, we find a small path that climbs between the pit and the wall of the cliff; we will soon reach a large crevice and, just before entering it, on the right we find the small cave.

Description

Morphology

Small cave almost 7 metres long, with a mini side passage. The average height is 0.6 metres with a width of 2 metres.

History

Cavity for which no reference appears in speleological catalogues. It was located by Juli Serrano and Montse Roca (SIE-CEA) in January 2020; it was returned to again in July 2020 to carry out the cataloguing work. It is to be assumed that the cave was already known since the adjacent crevice is used by climbers.
