Location

The cave is on the coast of l'Escala, on the wall between illa Mateua and Cala Montgó, near punta del Romaní, and in diving toponymic terms it is between la Depuradora and la Xinxa. It is part of the group of small caves found in this area.

Description

Morphology

Submarine cave about 40 metres long. Two large entrances can be seen. On entering through the passage, it turns to the left and the blue of the sea is lost. One quickly reaches a small chamber where, looking upwards, tunnels can be seen rising to sea level.

Progression

Access was made by going to illa Mateua and from there by scooter to the point where the cave is, passing by la Depuradora and the wall to near Punta Grossa. It is important, if going up to the top, to be aware that the sea is not moving to avoid hitting the walls or the ceiling. One can put one's head out and admire the blue of the sea at the bottom.
