A 10-metre-long cave in Cambrils (Odèn), formed by a chamber 6 metres in diameter. It is currently in a lamentable state of conservation.

Characteristics

Location

We will start from Cambrils along the road that goes to Alinyà; at the collada de Llinars we will turn left onto the forest track that climbs to the pla de les Guàrdies in a southerly direction, and at the collada de les Guàrdies we will park the car in the most suitable place. From here we will continue on foot along the forest track that climbs in a NW direction, gradually leaving the ridge and descending along a steep slope that turns into a ridge as far as the collada dels Obacs.

Here we will leave the path, which changes direction radically and descends towards les Anoves. We will continue southwards along the ridge, and about one hundred metres away on the left, some twenty metres below us, and hidden by thorny scrub, we will find, beside a juniper, the avenc del Xato. We will continue along the ridge as far as the roca del Mirador, a small hill with a great view over the valley of the Móra Comtal. We will continue in a northerly direction, keeping level, without a path, we will cross the torrent at the most suitable place, and we will climb the steep slope on the other side heading for the ridge.

Here we will look for an isolated pine tree, on terrain of calcite, and behind it, on the other side of the ridge, below, about ten metres away, hidden among the vegetation, we will find the cova de les Encantades. It is currently in a lamentable state of conservation.

Description

Morphology

The cavity is formed by a single slightly rounded chamber, 6 metres in diameter, seated on two parallel NW-SE joints, which came into contact when a collapse occurred that gave rise to the formation of the chamber.

Speleothems

The local infiltrations, in addition to the important role they played in its genesis, have given rise to a developed lithogenic process.
