Location

From Alcover along the TV-7041 road towards Mont-ral, before reaching km 8, a track leaves to the right towards an abandoned building; skirting this building on the right, the track continues in poor condition, passing a pool known as Font de l'Om; after a sharp bend the track leads to an esplanade above the Mas de Gomis quarry.

They continued in a SE direction, to the end of the quarry and climbing up towards the wood, which is quite closed in by the vegetation. Skirting the cliff we will find a vertex, it is a concrete beam, some 40 mts before reaching the avenc dels Escaladors, the cave entrance appears in a bend and hidden among small trees, weeds and rocky outcrops near the crag.

Description

Morphology

An entrance of 1x3 mts, down a 1 metre drop, giving access to a single chamber covered by blocks, which has gaps between the blocks.

Speleothems

The void in the north wall of the cavity is concretion-covered and impenetrable.

History

Juan Luis Benitez Rosado, Josep Lluis Alminyana Perez Alcon and Albert Tarragó Torns, members of GIEM-CEM Montblanc, while looking for the Avenc dels Escaladors located this cave, which already appears cited without data in the Catàleg Espeleològic de Catalunya vol. 2 (1978), from a simple mention by Dr. Francesc Español who apparently visited it in 1951, but on not finding cave fauna makes no kind of reference to it.
