Description
Morphology
It is a short traverse that connects the upper and lower parts of the cingle where the ermita de Sant Salvador is located. Entering through the upper mouth (avenc del Ral) there is a 2 metre drop that can be easily descended. Immediately there is the start of a narrow 8 metre pit, structured in a 10 metre long joint. At the base of the pit, on one side, the joint continues more or less flat and ends at 6 m. On the other side, a steep descending ramp with some narrow passage leads to the widest part of the cavity (2 m) with a very flat floor, until it opens to the outside (cova de Sant Salvador), at the start of a ramp that leads to the base of the cingle.

History
The cave has been known since time immemorial and was used as an annex to the ermita de Sant Salvador (14th century). The first exploration of the avenc del Ral was carried out by the ERE of the Agrupació Excursionista de Catalunya, of Vilafranca del Penedès in the year 1958.
