Location

It is reached by leaving the village of Sant Quirze Safaja along the C-1413b road; on reaching Km 3, take a left turn that leads to the les Torres residential area, where the car is left. Continue on foot along a path that leads to the molí de les Llobateres, from where a trail leads to Sant Miquel del Fai. Soon a turn-off leads to the molí de Baix; from there continue along the streambed, downstream, and the gorg Negre is quickly reached. The rock shelter is on the south-west side of the same gorg.

Description

Morphology

The rock shelter, half overrun by vegetation, measures 47 m long by 8 m deep and a maximum height of 2 m.

Speleothems

Through infiltrations, a column of tufa, stalactites and some stalagmitic coating have formed inside.

Hydrology

On the day of the visit the waters of the gorg were stagnant and green in colour.
