A tiny little cave near Béixac (Montellà i Martinet), with a single chamber just over 3m, currently a badger den.

Location

From the small village of Béixec, we continue along the track for about 400 metres, where a track is taken to the right. In about 5 minutes, the path will leave us in an abandoned cultivated field (Camp de Menús). From the N end of the field, a half-lost footpath sets out that in 3 minutes takes us to the cave mouth, located at the foot of a small crag facing west. A few metres before reaching the Tuta de Menús.

Description

Morphology

Through a small mouth half blocked by boulders (at first it was completely closed) one enters a single small chamber just over 3m in length.

History

When at the end of 2009 Ferran Cardona was at the Tuta de Menús, he observed that outside this small shelter sealed by boulders there were bone and pottery remains. In the spring of 2010 two observation outings are made together with Miquel Nebot, Tere Hernández and Julià González without removing the stone that sealed the site. Notice is given to the Patrimoni de la Generalitat and the study and excavation of the small cavity is carried out in 2016.
