Characteristics

Location

The exact location of the cavity is unknown; only the accompanying data are available. Its first, and possibly only, explorers named it Avenc de Brama Sacs, and solely from this it is inferred that it should be found in the area of the Molí de Bramasacs, in the gorge of the river Bastanist, near the small village of Víllec.

It can be reached by the small road that leads from Martinet to Víllec and Estana; a track on the left leads to the Molí de Bramasacs (Brama-sacs according to the ICGC), today converted into a rural tourism house.

The coordinates indicate only the location of the mill.

Description

Morphology

It appears to be a single pit about 15 metres deep with the base covered by a large cone of debris, among which a couple of unknowns can be glimpsed.

History

On 30 April and 1 May 1961, members of the ERE – CEC (Vicenç Cusó and Esteve Petit) together with colleagues from the Centre Excursionista Àliga make a trip to Cerdanya and explore la Cova d'Ingla and a pit they call Brama Sacs. This activity is reflected in the respective bulletins of the two entities without giving practically any further detail.

After more than 50 years, an old paper was found in the archive of the ERE – CEC with the drawing that Vicenç Cusó made at the time of the elevation and plan of the cavity (the original is attached in the topography section) and with which more concrete data, although insufficient, of this cavity have been obtained.

It can be seen that, initially, they identify it as Avenc de Brama Sacs, but later this name would be crossed out and that of Tuta de les Encantades is noted. It is also noted that it is found in the gorge of Bastanist – Víllec.

If anyone has more information, we would be grateful if they could send it to us.
