Characteristics

Location

Going to Taús from la Guardia d'Ares, a few hundred metres before reaching the ermita de Sant Martí, a track comes out on the left that heads to the refugi de Cuberes. Once the meadows of the valley have been crossed, you must keep to the right; the track, after a slight ascent, will place us in an extensive field of dolines where the following junctions must be taken: the first to the right (there are some sheds below), the second and the third to the left, the fourth to the right (after about 50 metres we will pass between two dolines), the fifth and the sixth to the left, the seventh is a junction of four paths, you must continue to the right, going into the forest; a few metres further on and after a clearing we find a new junction which we will follow to the left. This track, after a long route, will place us at a col from which the valley of Cabó can be seen. A path that would take us to the Clot de Favà must be left behind on the left. We will continue along the track, going into the forest again, to continue along the bed and the slopes of a torrent until reaching a “Y”-shaped junction. We will continue to the left for about 80 metres where we will find in the bed of the torrent a collapse and the mouth of the cavity.

Description

Morphology

The cavity begins with a pit of -4 metres and 1.5 metres in width, continues with a short gallery on a slope that leads to a small chaotic chamber with large blocks cemented in clay in a precarious state of equilibrium. Below one of these blocks a ramp pit 4 metres in length places us in a pit of more respectable dimensions and 7 metres of drop, leading to the middle of a gallery 2 metres in diameter and 12 metres in length. On one side the gallery climbs and becomes impenetrable at 6 metres, on the other side a narrow fissure full of blocks descends to a small chamber with a floor full of gravel and with a narrow fissure that seems to descend about 5 metres more.
