Location

Along the road from Monistrol to the monastery, past the football pitch there is a bend to the right, where it crosses the torrent de coll Cabirol. A few metres further on, on the left, the so-called camí de les Canals de Dalt begins; it must be followed for a few metres and right beside it is the mouth of this mentirosa.

Description

Morphology

Single conduit 12 metres long with a section 0.5 metres high and an average of 1 metre wide along its entire course. At the end, an impenetrable fissure closes off any possible continuation.

Hydrology

Intermittent spring that rarely becomes active, but when it does it appears to be extremely violent.

History

Known since time immemorial. Llopis i Thomas (1953) mention it as a hydrological phenomenon, but it does not appear as a speleological reference until the campaign carried out in 1971 by the Grup Espeleològic Pedraforca (Barcelona), which surveyed it. It is not until September 1989 that SIS – CE Terrassa surveyed it again, remaining unpublished until now.
