Description

Morphology

It has a floor plan 50 metres long, with an average depth of 15 metres; the deepest point exceeds 20 metres. It has a large visor, up to about 20 metres high. We will also observe some blocks of rock fallen from the ceiling scattered on the ground.

Hydrology

In the middle of the cave we will still be able to see the remains of lime on the ground that reveal a small waterfall.

Progression

We will follow the track downstream from the dam for about 500 metres. To reach it we will have the drawback of crossing the river at the most suitable place with great caution because of the strength of the river and the deep pools. Once across we will look for a high cliff with a large visor that hides the long balma.

Other details

In the southernmost part the terrain rises in height and we will still find the remains of a dry-stone wall, which at one time had served as a dwelling.

History

Known since ancient times in the area.

Bio

In summer the swallows take advantage of it to nest there.
