Small cave with 15 m of passage in the S of Gavarra (Coll de Nargó), opened in limestones and marly limestones of the Santonian. First exploration on 14 January 1971 by P. Francisco and A. Montserrat (GE Pedraforca).

Location

About 45 minutes S of the small village of Gavarra, on the SW slope of the Tossal de Puig-antic. The cavity is opened in the walls of the left bank of the torrent de Carreu, shortly before it receives the contributions of the torrent de Gavarra.

In this stretch the torrent is very entrenched and one must descend from the top of the cliff. If one does not know the area, someone must indicate the descent point from the other side of the torrent.

A few metres S of the Cova dels Blocs. Both cavities are excavated in limestones and marly limestones of the Santonian (Upper Cretaceous).

It is a small gallery of little more than 15 metres, in a slightly ascending direction.

With some reconstruction deposits.

History

First exploration carried out on 14 January 1971 by P. Francisco and A. Montserrat (GE Pedraforca) thanks to the indications of a resident of Gavarra.
