Characteristics

Location

From Mont-ral we will head West; once past the esplanade at the exit of the village we find a junction, we will leave the path that climbs to La Foradada and the Serrat de l'Avenc, and continue along the path in a NW direction. Once we have covered 75 metres, a path comes out on the left which we will follow, this one is from time to time marked with cairns and red dots. We will find a first fork where we continue to the right; a little further on we find a small trail on the left marked with cairns and the red dots, we must follow them, since this path heads to the Teix mil·lenari. We will reach a point where we must climb a steep slope formed by an accumulation of blocks; when we go down the other side the small trail passes almost touching the wall where we observe stalagmitic flowstone, we will soon reach the Teix mil·lenari, we continue a little further and enter a large rocky trench. At this point we will leave the path that continues to the left uphill, to follow through the middle of the forest and keep tracing the base of the cliff on the left in a West direction, for about 80 metres, where we will find the mouth of the pit avenc de la Llastra at the base of the cliff wall. From here we will descend about fifteen metres in a N direction to an old charcoal kiln and, we will continue in an E direction through the middle of the forest for 35 metres where we will find the mouth of the cova de la Sala, we will continue descending in a NE direction 16 metres, where at the bottom of a large depression we will find the cova enfonsada.

Morphology

The mouth gives access to a passage 6 metres long; on the left side we find two more passages between blocks, an upper one that on an ascending ramp places us at +3.5 metres and a lower one of -1.6 metres. The total drop is 5 metres (+3.5/-1.6) and the total length is 13.5 metres.

Speleothems

On the small trail, almost touching the wall, stalagmitic flowstone can be observed.

History

Cavity undocumented speleologically, very probably it was known and used as a shelter by the charcoal burners who worked in this part of the forest.
