Description
Morphology
It is one of the many large rock shelters known in the Port massif. The specific dimensions are unknown due to the lack of a survey of the cavity (see photo).
Progression
All the itineraries to reach it are quite arduous and long, but perhaps the most advisable is to set out from the Lloret car park, leave the barranc de Cova Pintada aside and continue onwards to the confluence of the barranc del Pregunter, where a path climbs up, passes by the Escarriso de Borosa and reaches the Coll de Morralets. From here one must follow the path in a NW direction until reaching the collet de Cova Ebre. A small path on the right leads in a few metres to the large rock shelter.
Other details
The strictly speleological interest is limited.
History
Known since time immemorial. The first reference is by Puig y Larraz in a work: Estadística minera de España (1873), noting that cuprolitic earths were extracted from the cave in great quantity (that is: guano). The same Puig includes it in his Cavernas y simas de España (1896) and later, Font i Sagué and Faura i Sans refer to the data given by Puig.
