Cova del Solà del Pep

Cova prehistòrica a l'Hospitalet de l'Infant.

Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant • Baix Camp22m4m

Prehistoric cave in l'Hospitalet de l'Infant, known since time immemorial and with an intervention by Salvador Vilaseca in 1934.

Characteristics

Location

On the N-340 road, going from l'Hospitalet de l'Infant to the Vandellòs nuclear power plant, at kilometre 1125.5 on the right-hand side, a track emerges that immediately crosses over the AP-7 motorway; once crossed, it continues parallel to it and then crosses the A-7 dual carriageway; once crossed, we follow the track to the right that continues parallel to the dual carriageway; when we reach the fifth turning we find on the left, we follow the track until we reach a point where the track is cemented and passes through the middle of some cultivation terraces, with carob trees on the left and olive trees on the right; when the cemented track ends, we must continue on foot along the completely deteriorated track that leads to the electricity towers; after 250 metres, when the track turns left, on the right-hand side a waymarked path emerges that over a distance of 190 metres brings us to the cavity.
