Description

Morphology

The cave consists of a main gallery with a gentle slope, except at the entrance where the slope is 50º. At 10 metres the gallery narrows until it has a section of 1.2x0.5 metres; after this stretch the gallery gains height, until reaching 8 metres. Overcoming a 2.5-metre rise we will access a hanging gallery, the main one widens until reaching 3x8 metres. The cavity ends in two small crawls that lead to widenings of the same, but full of water.

Hydrology

The cavity ends in two small crawls that lead to widenings of the same, but full of water.

Progression

Currently (2014) and after more than 40 years since its first exploration, it has been possible to observe that the narrow passage located at the end of the entrance gallery has been gradually blocked by sediments coming from the entrance ramp, turning it into a very selective passage of only about 20 centimetres in height.

History

This cavity was known to the people of the Bellabriga. On 15 August 1969, the Grup Espeleològic Pedraforca located it, but did not explore it until September of the same year; they would still return again on 28 October of that same year to make the survey.
