Location

Near Km 7 of the BV-2128 road in the municipality of Castellví de la Marca, is the neighborhood of les Cases Noves de la Riera, next to the bridge over the Riera de Marmellar. We will take the dirt track that runs parallel to the stream for a distance of approximately 1.4 km; at the point where we cross the stream for the third time, we must climb up through the forest on the left hydrographic slope, about 85 meters of elevation gain to a small cliff, near the highest point of the mountain. The cavity is located at the base of the same cliff.

Description

Morphology

The irregular entrance mouth, approximately 2×2.1 meters high, allows access to an irregular gallery initially with a high ceiling, which as it goes deeper heads S and loses height until reaching the final chamber. Toward the W of the cavity, there is a small chamber with a low ceiling, connected at two points with the rest of the cavity. A small suspended conduit toward the middle of the gallery climbs N a few more meters.

Speleothems

In the final chamber some formations can be seen.

Progression

To access the cave it is necessary to do an easy climb of about 3 meters, since it is suspended above the base of the small cliff and a tree partially occupies the entrance.

History

Known since ancient times.
