Cova de l'Avellaner

Cova de l'Avellaner

Petita cova de 5 metres de recorregut a les Planes d'Hostoles.

Planes d'Hostoles, Les • Garrotxa5m0

Small early Neolithic burial cave with 5 metres of passage, opened in travertines at les Planes d'Hostoles.

Characteristics

Location

It is located on a travertine ledge on the hydrographic left of the riera de Cogolls, some 30 metres above its current bed, and above the path that leads to the serra de les Medes. Currently this path is barred by a grille gate, so one must go as far as the Salt dels Murris and follow the trail that goes up the riera until reaching a metal fence that bars the way; a few metres before the fence we will turn right, going up the slope along some terraces that will lead us to an abandoned cultivated field; on the other side of the field the track passes, and a little above it we find the cave.
