Small cave of archaeological interest in the Montgrí, on the SE slope of the Muntanya d'Ullà, known since time immemorial.

Characteristics

Location

On the SE slope of the Muntanya d'Ullà. It can be reached via the track that goes from Ullà to Santa Caterina; before arriving there, one must continue to the right toward the coll de Santa Caterina or de la Creu. From here a small path heads west that in about 400 metres leads to the mouth of the cave, raised a few metres.

Description

Morphology

Rounded mouth about 4 metres in diameter. After the first 4 metres of horizontal gallery, the gallery descends gently for about 10 metres until it closes.

No survey is available.

History

Known since time immemorial. The first references are provided by M. Pallarès and Ll. Pericot, who in 1922 carried out the first excavations, finding materials very similar to those of the Cau del Duc de Torroella.
