Location

The balma Petita del Pujant is located in the Serra de Montgrony (Ripollès). From the Balma del Pujant and continuing along the track, the torrent de Monegalls is immediately crossed and a few metres later a path leaves to the left that climbs steeply (the “pujant”) and after a few switchbacks through the middle of the forest it passes right in front of the mouth of the balma Petita del Pujant. This is about 150 m west of the balma del Pujant, but about a hundred metres of elevation above it.

Description

Morphology

Balma 5.5 m wide, 8 m deep and about 2 m average height. As it is deeper than it is wide it could well be defined as a cave, but the name “balma” is kept given that this is how it is defined in all the sources consulted.

History

Like its neighbour, it has also been known for a long time by hikers. Visited by Ferran Cardona (ECMB) in July 2020 while carrying out the cataloguing work.
