A rock shelter on the riera de Merlès, Lluçà (Lluçanès), 41 metres wide, 6 metres maximum height and 8 metres deep, occupied by blocks and trunks.

Location

From km 37.18 of the C-154 road an asphalted track sets off, in a N direction, running parallel to the riera de Merlès. After 6.7 km we find a turn-off to the right that in about a hundred metres will take us to a bridge that crosses the riera. Here we will leave the car and continue in a S direction along the side of the riera. At 50 metres we will find a wooden ladder that allows us to descend to the level of the riera and a few metres further on we will find the rock shelter.

Description

Morphology

Rock shelter 41 metres wide and 6 metres maximum height that goes back 8 metres.

Hydrology

The whole rock shelter is occupied by blocks and trunks dragged along by the riera, since it is occasionally flooded.

History

Cavity known since time immemorial. It had remained unpublished until the visit by members of the Espeleo Club de Gràcia on 2 June 2016 who carried out the cataloguing work.
